Resolved - Twitter has published a status post about the incident here: https://api.twitterstat.us/

At the time of writing, we're seeing recovery, and Twitter logins are now working as expected. Closing this as resolved.
Feb 26, 13:38 UTC
Update - Twitter is continuing to respond with "Service Unavailable" errors for the relevant OAuth endpoint and we are still monitoring and waiting for Twitter's resolution.
Feb 26, 12:16 UTC
Monitoring - For approximately the last 15 minutes, we've noticed that some attempts to log in to Skedda via a Twitter account are showing errors to the user. The underlying cause is that the authentication endpoints on Twitter's side that are required to complete the log-in flow are returning a 503 "Service Temporarily Unavailable" error to Skedda. That is, it's an external incident that we aren't able to resolve from our side and we must wait for Twitter to resolve the issue on their side.

Only logins via Twitter are affected.

Affected users can request a login-reset email from our login page (https://app.skedda.com/account/login) and set up a different authentication method (password, Google, Facebook or Microsoft login) to get in to their Skedda account if they're blocked by this Twitter issue.

We expect Twitter to resolve this issue soon and will provide updates here within 60 minutes or as events warrant.

Resolved - We have not seen any further issues for over an hour, so we are marking this incident as resolved. Our services are fully operational.

In summary, between approximately 22:00 UTC and 23:00 UTC, our hosting provider experienced intermittent availability issues that affected our application database servers, which resulted in higher response times in the Skedda web app. Overall, the incident saw only a small handful (<10) of requests to our services that ended up resulting in a 5xx error response. All other requests resolved successfully (at worst after a longer than typical response time, up to 45 seconds). We apologize to any customers that experienced degraded performance during this time.

Update - We are continuing to monitor for further issues.
Feb 25, 23:08 UTC
Update - Performance has been at normal levels for the last 10 minutes and we are continuing to monitor.
Feb 25, 22:34 UTC
Monitoring - Our engineers are monitoring some intermittent availability fluctuations of our application databases that started approximately 20 minutes ago (22:00 UTC). Our hosting provider has reported these as unplanned events. The fluctuations are causing degraded performance on the web app for some requests, however overall Skedda is still functional for the vast majority of traffic. A small number of users may have seen errors but these should be resolved after retrying. We will provide an update in 20 minutes or as events warrant.
